So the other day after driving on a highway a speeds of about 60 m.p.h. I made a stop , when the light turned green and I proceeded to move. the car "felt' as if it did not want to go into first gear. yet it did go into first at about 15 m.p.h., just not off the line. So I figured well it is a old car o-well, i could drive it like this. So I drove home and parked it for the night. So, the next mourning I got back in the car and it grabbed first with no problems. However at about 15 m.p.h. (still in first) the trans violently stopped the car. It stopped the car faster and harder then the brakes could stop the car. It felt as if the car was thrown in reverse., but their was no noise what so ever,no grinding. and it happened everytime i got to about 15 m.p.h. So i parked the car all day amd this morning I wanted to try and listen real hard. And the damn car drove fine. no problems at all. I have no idea. does anyone have a clue what the hell is going on. thank you in advance. Jimmy ---------- Check tranny oil level, change gear oil, cross fingers. Right before I lost my transmission in the 1987 base model, it did the same lurch to a stop thing, twice. It gets much worse ;P Good Luck
