Subject: 92 saab overheat fix

Hello, I am the owner of a 92 Saab, which I love. However, it has this tendency to run hot or overheat. The dealer says that they have a fix for the problem, but they want a gawd-awful amt of money (I think something along the lines of about $300 + labor) to do it. From my basic mechanical understanding, the fix runs along the lines of a fan relay and a wiring harness (this would result in *2* fans running to cool the engine, instead of the current *1*). Am I correct in thinking that I could probably have something rigged up along the same lines for a lot less money by the local mechanic who does my simpler stuff? Thanks for any assistance you can provide, Deb
