If you use AMSOIL, as I have for the past 21 years, you can change the filter at 5K, oil and filter at 10K and be very safe. (I did oil analysis to be sure, and the oil was still suitable for continued use when I drained it.) If you use Mobil 1, you should be able to run almost as long without drain.
