The Corolla is designed specifically for fuel efficiency and > the Saab is not. I think 20 is pretty bad. I routinely get 28 to 30 mpg in my 1990 Saab 900 Turbo convertible. I do drive mainly highway miles but all on steep grades (about 6%) at altitudes between 5000 and 9000 ft. Obviously, I don't use the A/C that much and use cruise control a lot. I got about 2 mpg increase with my last major tune-up. YMMV. -klaus
