Subject: Re: Start-problem on hot days

x-no-archive:yes Well David, I see you are still battling the hot start problem. Me too. I tried the second grounding wire and it didn't stop it. Today was cooler and it only gave me a small amount of trouble. The other day I spent an extra hour downtown waiting for my car to start. That was two separate no start incidents. It does seem there are at least two modes - one is that after a couple of tries, with a click each time, it will start - second is that after numerous tries, all unsuccessful, if I wait 15 to 20 minutes, it will start right up first try. That's why I suspected the anti-theft thingy - the 15 to 20 minute trick. I'm just about to give up. This weekend when I have another person handy, I'm going to try some of the testing methods someone e-mailed to me that involve having someone turn the key while I check the voltmeter. I have had enough! There is a garage in Appleton, WI that just does Saabs. He told me how to install my fuel pump. Maybe he has an answer. I think he's even Swedish by ancestry. Maybe that helps. I'm glad you're out there trying all the various methods that everyone suggested. (I really thought the additional ground wire would help and it was so cheap and easy). Anyway, it saves me the trouble of doing it all. I will let you and the group know if I find out anything new. So far I have tried leaving the doors unlocked when I leave the car, only turning the lock quickly and not the however many seconds it takes to reduce the alarm sensitivity, turning off the ignition while in neutral instead of park, moving the shifter back and forth, wiggling the ignition slightly while turning the key and nothing helps. It does as it pleases, when it pleases. After our various experiments, the only thing left is burnt offerings! Diane
