So next time it happends, slowly push the brake pedal with your LEFT foot
until you hear a little "click". Now you´re brakelights are on, and the
tailgating driver should get the message. If it doesn´t work, try to give
him/her a flash with the warning lights.

I have seen, here and there, drivers of newer Saabs tailgating in
disproportionate numbers. It makes me cringe.
When you tailgate, you communicate to the car ahead of you that he or
she has no right to stop quickly, even if an unexpected road condition
arises. Any rational person understands that, on occasion, unexpected
road conditions do arise. Wise drivers leave adequate room ahead of
them to have a good chance of reacting safely to the problem.
Tail gaiters endanger not only themselves but the person in front of
them. They penalize the person in front of them for leaving adequate
stopping distance. They also endanger the car following this ugly
(and pathetically macho) spectacle by increasing unnecessarily the
chances that an accident will occur in front of him or her.
I look forward to the day when a small but apparently clueless
percentage of Saab owners cease and desist from feeling that their
road rights are superior to those of others'. We own pretty good
cars. We may drive a bit more quickly than some others, where
conditions seem to afford the opportunity. No-one,... I repeat:
NO-ONE has the right to tailgate.
