I have a 5 month old 900 XS Talladega 2.3 manual. Its difficult to disengage 5th gear and generally grating when changing into 4th. Dealer has fitted a new 5th gear and synchro but is no better. Saab want to replace gear selector rails but I'm holding out for a replacement car (threat of legal action has forced Saab GB to offer new gearbox but if this is then faulty they will repair it rather than replace it again). Dealer says its firt time he's seem the fault but I am hearing stories to the contrary. Does anyone know of this problem? Have heard a rumour that someone was killed in UK in last few weeks as thwy couldn't get car out of 5th.
