Larry, If you want to know exactly what they do, I suggest you give them a call at (201) 818-1166. It was my understanding when I called that they go through and correct problems for the $80. The price goes up if you have and send the equalizer and stereo. That should only affect you, if your's is a turbo model. The Clarion units are sensitive to electrical damage. The unit in my 87 900S had a screwed up controller chip. That is the one that controls the audio -volume/bass,treble and balance, as well as switches back and forth when you go from radio to cassette and back. The one in my 87 900S was really messed up when you tried to use the cassette. It also made a popping noise during start up. All it takes is bad boost from a set of jumper cables and you have problems. Ken Washington 87 9000S 87 900S 83 900T
