I have a 1988 Saab 900s that needs a new transmission. The car is in decent shape with a new clutch, brakes and other new parts except for the power steering mechanism which leaks a bit. The car has 120,000 miles on it and I am told by a number of local shops that the engines last for 200,000 or so and that the transmission is the weakest part of the car. I went through all this in 1975 with a 1968 96. I ended up junking the 96. Anyone have any opinions on fixing the transmission for $1800 or just scraping the whole thing as it is currently our third car. Opinions anyone? Please reply to georgeknopsamancegroup.com. Thanks for the help and opinions!
