You take the plug out, and see if the gear lube is up to just below the opening. If not, add some. I've used AMSOIL synthetic 75W-90 for years. Important to check this, as the fluid level can drop slowly if the lube is oozing out the sides. If the lube disappears, the car will make bad noises and it will cost you a new transmission. If you can't get at it, have it done for you. Wouldn't be a bad idea to change it, anyhow. Drain plug on the bottom--takes a allen wrench in a size you probably don't have, and is usually so tight you can't get it out easily anyhow. To put new fluid in the side, need a long tube on the end of a funnel, or a pump gun. Much more practical than turing the car upside down. And be sure you can get the side plug out before removing the bottom plug<g> Dick in Falls Church, VA 85 900T automatic
