Elliott, If the service is current on your 92 9000CS, check to see how often the transmission fluid, if an automatic, has been changed. My Haynes manual indicates 24,000 miles or two year intervals for the fluid and filter. Flushing your power steering fluid once a year or once every two years is a good way to extend the life of your power steering rack. I have an 87 9000S. My Saabtech friend has an 87 9000T that he has done his own work on since he bought it new. If your's is 5 spd, it would not hurt to get as much of the old oil out of the transmission and replace it with fresh oil. The 92 900/9000 models seem to have more than there fair share of problems, but there were several who had few or no problems at all. Ken Washington 87 9000S
