Saab makes a tool to turn the piston back in. It does not, I repeat DOES NOT just push back in like on American junks. You MUST have the tool from Saab that turns the piston in. You may have ruined the caliper though by stepping on the brake while the caliper w/pad assembly was not in place on the rotor. This may allow the piston in the caliper to travel beyond the point of return or even blown a seal in the caliper. WHAT ARE YOU DOING WITHOUT THE BENTLEY BOOK!!!! GET THE TO THE SAAB DEALER AND BUY ONE!!!!! Replacing the pads on a Saab is like on of the easiest repairs if you have the right tools. Get the book and make your life a whole lot easier. ------>Please drop 'dead' to e-mail, thanx------ toastynopsam.vipmail.com wrote in message <3623d8d4.242687342nopsam.ime.net>... >err, i was replacing my rear brake pads today, and i could not get one >caliper back on the rotor with the new pads because the hydrolic part >was not retracted all the way. i turned on the car to try to see if i >had put any pressure in them that the car would take out after being >started, but i hit the brake and now the hydrolic part on the caiper >is out all the way against the side and i don't know how to get it >back in. please help, this really sucks, replacing the brake pads is >a pain enough.
