Sounds as if it could be the dump valve - pull off the vacume pipe to the unit at the manifold (engine off of coarse) and give it a suck -you should hear it open ( clicking noise) and you should not be able to suck air through it. If the diagphram is split it will let air in upsetting the mixture hence the stall. Good luck John
