I just fulfilled a long-standing desire to drive a Saab by getting my first Saab on Friday. Got a 9-5SE (2.3L). I'm interested in hooking up my AT&T Wireless Nokia 6160 cell phone in a hands-free configuration. I'd love to hook it up to take advantage of both the auto-mute feature and to amplify the caller through the stereo speakers; I would settle for just muting the stereo when I use the phone. The owner's manual says that there are certain phones that work with the stereo and that I need to have my dealer install it. I don't have a problem with that, except for the fact that it always seems that the "approved" phone is about 2 years behind today's cellular technology (maybe that's different with Saab). Does anyone know if the Nokia 6160 can be interfaced with the stereo in this car (it's the Harman/Kardon? upgrade), and if it's something a reasonably- experienced EE graduate could pull off? Where can I pick up technical manuals on the car or the stereo, that might have this kind of information? Thanks. Pete.
