All Saabs, since the beginning of the 900 share all the same parts - they ONLY difference between Euro-spec and U.S. spec cars are the headlights (H4 vs. DOT) and possibly the addition of a catalytic converter. Obviously, you've got LHD vs. RHD, but even so the cars are still identical... just swapped. Parts is NOT a problem on any 900, anywhere, with the sole exception of the 5-door hatch of '79-'81. In the case the this car, certain parts are difficult if not impossible to come by. Things like the rear quarter windows and certain interior parts are different from later Saabs, but other than that it isn't a problem. I don't know who told you the nonsense about parts being hard to come by, but it's a load of crap. The first part is dead on - the 16v engine debuted in the '85 turbo, was added to the S model in '86, and added to the base 900 in 1989. Well, at least in the U.S. - in Europe they 8v wasn't discontinued in any model until recently... -Justin
