your so right. its nothing but a scam to get your money. saabs are relatively low rpm engines that in normal circumstances last long enough without any additives. a survey here in holland showed that most garages bill you for expensive oils and just use cheap basic stuff that works just as good. despite all the high tech gear the punt on engines now a days, the basic two liter saab engine was developed with the idea in mind that any remote living swedish farmer should be able to maintain the engine with a normal set of tools. altough they've added 16 valves and fantastic engine electronics the basis is still the same.
