Maybe not a trunk load of computers, but people do put purses, shopping bags, sport gear, etc, etc, etc in their trunks, which they would like to keep at least *somewhat* secure. It would seem my concerns aren't that unusual, seeing that BMW, M-B, Audi (and Volvo, I think), all have a means of locking the trunk seperate of the passenger compartment. I still think this is a design flaw on Saab's part - especially, as you pointed out, because it is such a simple on to correct.
