Subject: Help Needed - 900 axle Replacement

I'm replacing the right axle (bad cv joint) on my 85 900. As usual, I had a bit of trouble removing the ball joints. I hammered quite a bit in the lower mounting bolts before deciding to buy an air impact wrench to spin them out. Even that didn't work without applying some heat. But I got everything apart and am ready to put it back together. BUT - something doesn't look right to me. The A-arm looks bent. The slot the lower ball joint sits in sure isn't at the same angle as the upper. It is probably 20 degrees off. The upper one looks approximately parallel to the ground when looking at it from the side. But the lower is clearly twisted from that. Did I bend it or am I just paranoid? I can probably install it the was it is because of the flexability of the ball joints. It just looks wrong. Another way to explain this is that if I install both ball joints to the car and leave them "centered" they don't point to each other when looking from the side. thanks for any help. Jim
