Subject: Re: 900 warm up

i have an '89 saab 900 (not a turbo) that has a stalling problem similar to the one you described. it's really, really elusive. i keep getting different things fixed and it will then work for a while, then the problem reappears. sometimes it stalls as you described -- as the rpms are decreasing once you let off the gas. sometimes the engine just cuts while cruising along at anywhere from 2,000 to 3,000 rpms. sometimes when the engine's cold, usually when it's fully warmed up. so far, mechanics have: cleaned the fuel injectors, adjusted the idle, replaced some charcoal hose and replaced the oxygen sensor. all those things have worked for a while, then like i said, the problem starts again. mechanic thinks the problem could be the computer that controls the rpm levels, but he doesn't want to do a $500 repair on a theory. any advice? thanks in advance june
