Bob I blew my head gasket about 3000 miles ago. It cost me £1200 UK pounds. Do NOT drive the car. If the head is warped or cracked you will be cheaper buying a second hand engine than having your own replaced. (That £1200 was to have it fixed.) Justin is right, whatever is wrong will damage the engine if you drive it. When my gasket blew, there was a lot of steam coming from the exhaust and I lost firing on one of the cylinders because it was flooded with water. Ken is also right. Have the car towed to a garage and have the compression checked. Personally, I think they will have to remove the head anyway so I would bite the bullet and have it towed away now.
