The little plastic gears which turn speedometer movement into odometer movement strip or crack or otherwise become non-functional over time... it's a fairly common problem on high-mileage Saabs... There are a couple places that repair VDO odos... one of them with which I've had great luck is Palo Alto Speedometer... http://www.paspeedo.com Good luck, -Justin
