Subject: Re: 900 + 205 tires?

Does anyone know what the 9000's with the AERO wheel tire size was OEM? anyway the spg wheels one the 900 are 5.5 inches wide the AERO wheels that alot of would like to get are 6.5 inches wide so... how wide a tire is right so that it fills the width, and doesn't go too wide that it looks " stuffed" like a person on thanksgiving. a nice vertical wall is whats best IMHO. The 195 /60 15 on the SPG is a ok, but with the smaller side wall, it will make up for the tire that sticks over thelip of the wheel. my guesses for the 16x 6.5 inch wheel are: 205/50 16 - in regards to the SPG wheel OEM spg wheel-tire, 3 more rev. per mile, 3.6 mm shorter over all height which is good for the rubbing problems, unless it rubbs from being wider not taller 215/50 16 - now this one is taler than the SPG tire, so rubbing might take effect... 6.4 mm taller to be exact 225/45 16 - this tire might be getting to the "too wide " puffy looking effect on the wheel. although shorterthan spg wheel, might just be too wide. the overall diameter is 6.1 mm shorter than spg tire although this doesnt apply for the 9000 or 900 wheel, but if you have a 17 inch wheel, the 225/ 40 17 matches up with the 205/50 16, being just .2mm taller, and only 3.6 mm shorter than the original 15 inch 195/ 60 15in SPG tire. I hope this might help those of you looking to upgrade your 900!!! I used a tire size converter/calculator (The best tire acc. since the air guage) at: http://nospam.com/turbo/ - go to the DIY page, and pick tire size calculator Mark 91 900 SPG 66 96 Monte Carlo 850 80 900 5 door Turbo!
