Once again you seem to be one of these people that are confusing 0-60 performance with real world performance, look at how much torque these engines produce and where it is in the rev range. This is what happens when you base your opinion on what you have read in magazines (written by idiots that don't know how to drive! If you don't believe me look at their opinions of that piece of crap called the Fiat coupe. My brothers boss owned one and it didn't even compare to his golf VR6). Consider this, a tuned 900T16 like my own will pull 30-70 in around 5.5 secs and I believe 0-100 is about 14 to 15 secs (Haven't measured it accurately yet). How many BMW's can match that kind of performance hey? And before you start rattling on about superior handling I will tell you a little story.... A guy that lives down the road from my mechanic challenged him reckoning that his Oh so wonderfull 328 would piss all over any SAAB. It just so happened that he had a 9000 2.3CSE to hand so he lead him out on a nice little cross-crountry and completely anihalated him. > BMW is so smooth that you hardly feel anything > at all. True they are very smooth but have you ever tried a fast getaway in an M3, hardly any easier than in SAAB. If traction is what you want you would be better off with a Subaru or Audi 4wd. > To conclude, again, SAAB is a great car, and if it wasn't for a new 3 I'd > probably get it myself. That's only because they are like wood compared to those in a SAAB > I am just trying to make discussion > interesting, do you just want everyone here to have the same opinion? Would > that be exciting? No but a SAAB lover that actaully prefers BMW is like cheating on your wife;) Actually I would really like an M3 or M5 as to cars like the 318 those are for idiots that like spending over 20 grand on a car no bigger or faster than a Vauxhall(opel) Astra. Come to think of it, if I had the money right now to buy any car comparable to the M3 I would get Audi's new S4. -----------== Posted via Deja News, The Discussion Network ==---------- http://www.dejanews.com/ Search, Read, Discuss, or Start Your Own
