You can get an antenna mast which only requires the removal of the retaining nut on the outside of the body. If the old one is still visible it will remove easily, otherwise you may have to strip down the antenna body to get the old one out. It may be as simple as removing the retaining screw from the guide tube to get the old bit out. Once that is done, you just: 1. Feed in the new mast while the antenna is retracting. 2. Replace the outside retaining nut 3. Extend and retract the antenna a few times. It should settle to the proper position within 2 or 3 goes.
