And I replied that this is incorrect. The heads are the same,
the block is *effectively* the same. Both are B202 engines
as designated by Saab. The ONLY difference between the two
engines is the angle where the head meets the block, on a 900
it's 45 degrees, on a 9000 it's something else. Mechanically
they are identical. The pistons, valves, cams, whatever all
are 100% interchangable.
I have the factory service manuals for both 900s and 9000s,
and the specs and tolerances sections are the same between
the two books.
And the plugs are the same too. I swap NGK BCP6EVs between
my 9000 and 900s. I buy them in bulk - with four Saabs
around I use a lot of plugs. ;)
I won't take it personally if you choose not to believe me.
All I can say is that with 11 or so Saabs in the past few
years I have a fair amount of information at my disposal...
