The classic 900 sure is/was a good car, especially the last ones that were
made (-92/93). All the mechanical parts and the chassis were tested and
bettered through the years(which in fact was all the way from the
introduction of Saab 99 in -69).
I've driven both the classic 900, new 900, 9-3 and I must say that the real
Saab feeling is gone. But luckily there are classic 900's still available
on the 2nd hand market :)
