I have noticed that a large amount of grit collects under the wing (fender) edge protecters. I recently had to do a repair on the left hand side wing due to rust and I hope I don't have to do this again. Since the repair two months ago I have noticed that when I peel back the protector a little it is full of grit. Has anyone got any suggestions to stop my wings rusting through again? I have thought of lining the protector with grease before fitting. I have also noticed that the new ones seem to have a slightly different design. Would a complete new set not suffer from grit penetration?
