Not actually Swedish myself, but having lived in Norway for a little over a year, I met a few folks. It's funny how the "the grass is always greener on the other side" concept applies. Most folks I've talked car-talk with in Scandinavia basically think of Saab and Volvo both as 'common'. Compare this to how people in the North America view Ford/Chevy/Chrysler. American cars, on the other hand, have a much bigger 'mystique' in Scandinavia because they are import cars. As for the comparison between Saab and Volvo, the rift between the two seemed no worse than say, the Ford vs. Chevy debate. Both sides have their loyalists, but generally one doesn't have any more 'status' than the other. Keep 'em running, both Saab and Volvo! -SAABhuman Radek Hulán wrote: > What is the "general notion" in Sweden about Saab vs. Volvo? > Sales figures tell us that Volvo is several times better selling than > Saab while both car-makers having very similar prices? > Is it because Volvo has a higher "status" or because of *former* > Saab reliability problems? > > Thanks for your answers, Radek
