Subject: Re: Gas mileage?

You live in New Jersey and I live in Maryland. Most of the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast are required to use oxygenated fuel from November 1 to about the end of February. It is for pollution control. Yes, it can cause the mileage in some cars to drop. If you are running a Non-Turbo Saab, try running mid-grade. I have found on my 87 900S 16V 5 spd and 87 9000S 16V 5 spd that my mileage and performance increased with mid-grade. If you don't have the turbo, you don't have APC and the premium may leave deposits because it won't burn cleanly due to lace of compression, hotter spark or the boost provided by the turbo.
