No it wasn't. CD means classical design.
1. In Europe the 9000 CD was available in every engine from the release in
1990 being the 2.0, 2.3 and 2.3 Turbo.
2. In 1992 came the 9000 CS, the 9000 CD kept on existing untill 1996 but
had a front facelift together with the 9000 CS in 1996.
3. The reflecting panel has been an option on the 9000 CD from the beginning
untill the last car.
4. Automatic is a choice and option in Europe, not a duty (thank God for
that).
Until the launch of the 9000 CS there was no obvious sign at the exterior of
the car that it was luxury or not. From 1992 on (launch of the CS) the
CS/CD was basic, the CSE/CDE was luxury (wood, airco, leather,...). The
griffin was the most luxury car in the 9000 CD and was indeed only available
with automatic (too bad).
Johan.
