The 80's were The Decade that Taste Forgot, and quality pretty much forgot them as well (apart form the Japs). On the other hand my 1970 Mini was still running in 1989, not bad for a car which cost £405 brand new. And almost all the F1 teams are UK based (including Ferrari). So are Subaru's racing team. And Cosworth.
