Subject: Re: Trans inner driver and bearings/or good NY/NJ Mechanics

James I just did this Job on my 86 900T16. The R.H. inner driver, the one next to the exhaust pipe, was very worn. The L.H. outside C.V. boot was ripped. The job was not hard at all, things came apart easy. I didn't change the L.H. inner driver though. When you get the innerdriver housing unbolted you most likely will have to tap on the driver while pulling to release it from the transmission. I would suggest that you get everything nice and clean around the joints prior to disassembly. Also check the Ball Joints before you take things apart. I replaced all four. A few hard blows from a hammer broke loose all the taper/press joints, tie rod ends and balljoints. I did not replace the C.V. joints just cleaned and repacked. Thedriver and the tripod bearing was about $150 and $70 I also replaced the steering rack boot which were ripped. good luck tony...
