I have a 90 Celica GT-S that has 236,000 miles. All I've done was a valve job at 140K not because the valves were burnt, but because it needed new valve-stem seals. I do perform a rigorous maintenance schedule including a steady diet of Mobil 1 oil every 10K miles.
