I had a Carlton (Omega) at one stage, built by Adam Opel - the forst thing
you always check on a used Vauxhall is that it has an Adam Opel VIN plate,
'cos British built ones are sadly not up to scratch.
Was a nice car, well made, let down by iffy (Bosh) injection system. More
comfortable, quieter and vastly more economical than my Volvo.
The Carlton would return 40+mpg (Imperial gallons, about 4.5 litres) at
speeds of 80mph +
