I have the same problem with my 1983 900 GLi. I'll check with my mechanic but I believe that he said that it couldn't harm that much. A car from 1983 is of course not new and it's stupid to invest to much money in it if it doesn't harm your car or lowers your safety. I'll check with him anyway. JOhan.
