You need to use 3M Super Trim Adhesive #08090.  It does't react to heat or
the chemicals in your vinyl headliner.  I did my Sonett III two years ago
and it is still holding strong.  Make sure you get rid of all the old
adhesive first though, best thing I found was Guardsman's Goof Off.  It is
safe for vinyl and upholstery.
