Ken, First, I incorrectly stated the shourder harness system as "Active" where it is actually considered "Passive" since the user is the passive component in the system (I guess!?). I checked out the NHTSA database and didn't find anything related to my particular problem. I appreciate your mentioning this site nevertheless, as it may be useful at a later date, and was unaware of it. I did not think of changing the ECU for this system as of yet, although I should have since I do have a spare (I believe) from a parts car that I purchased previously. I guess, I typically look for mechanical failures first such as shorted (or open) wiring, poor connections, or defective switches (etc.). NTL, I'll try it tonight (if I can find my spare)! BTW - What (aside from the factory manuals) is the best repair manual for this vehicle? Why, do the manuals (Hayes for example) I see talked about in this group only go up to 1988? I do have a manual that I purchased about 2 yrs. ago which I think is a Hayes, and am not very impressed with it.
