Hi! I have a 83 Turbo with a '89 16-valve Turbo engine, and lately I've been hearing grating grinding resonating sounds from my fuel tank. It's pretty sure that it's the fuel pump acting up, but has anyone ever dismantled such a piece? I've been told it's a two-part deal and the part that often acts up and makes these kinds of sounds is the scavenger pump. Is it feasible to repair the pump rather than replace the whole piece?
