A jammed wastegate would result in lots of heat and too much pressure as well as letting the APC gauge go well into the red. But you are getting no turbo. So could it be an obstruction in the exhaust system. This has happened in the past. The exhaust spins the turbo, but as the gases cannot escape they build up in the system increasing heat and back pressure. The turbo blows in more fuel/air but because the cylinders haven't discharged fully the power is well below par. Pressure increases and bang goes another head gasket. Check your silencer boxes. they may be the cause. You may be able to tell by feeling the pressure, or lack of it, out of the exhaust when you increase the revs (with the car parked obviously). Roger.
