Furthermore, your anonymous "instrumented tests" must've been done by someone who doesn't correct results to standard conditions, thus precluding a useful comparison of various vehicles. Road & Track's corrected, instrumented tests show 7.3 seconds to 60 for the Saab 9-5 SE V-6 versus 7.9 for the 300M. Furthermore they show a quarter mile time of 15.6 seconds for the Saab versus 16.0 seconds for the Chrysler. The Saab also stops shorter form both 60 and 80 mph, and its governed top speed is higher than the 300M's best even without their governor (the governor is not present on 300Ms with the optional suspension package). Given that the Chrysler shows 50 more horsepower than the Saab, this has only one possible explanation: the Saab has FAR lower drag. Meaning, of course, that you lost whatever it was that you "wagered" in your post. I noticed that you didn't say a single useful thing to the original post. You don't have anything to do, do you? --Eoin
