Subject: Re: Saab 9-3 Viggen On-line

Interior has two-tone materials, sports seats, etc... they are positioning it as a driver's car for the real world -- 252lb ft for a 3,100lb car translates into great acceleration (hp relates more to top speed, torque to acceleration) and mid-range/overtaking punch. Remember, that's much more torque than an BMW M3. Of course, the M3 handles better, but the Viggen also has safety and versatility on its side... Regarding GM, they come under a lot of criticism on this newsgroup. But bottom line is, if they hadn't stepped in, there would be no Saab today. My understanding is that they've finally realized what they've got and are increasing resources to Saab. Supposedly, there's some pretty trick stuff coming out on the next gen 9-3...
