I'm scrapin' my cash together for a 9-5 SE V6, which will replace my 1996
Intrepid ES.
I loved the Intrepid when I bought it. Then it broke, and I tried to get
it fixed. This revealed to me Chrysler's Achille's heel: their absolutely
horrid dealership network. If you check DejaNews, you can find the sad
tale of the last few months of my Intrepid lease. The long and short of
it is, I won't be buying another Chrysler product for the forseeable
future. Had Chrysler's dealerships done a better job fixing the car, or
even done a better job kissing up to me after they messed up (repeatedly),
I might be buying a 300M.
Instead, I'm looking at Saabs. They handle better than Chrysler LH
sedans, have about the same trunk room, and there are far, far fewer posts
in the Saab newsgroup about defects, lemons, premature failures, and so
forth. Every Saab owner I've known has owned Saabs for long periods of
time, and has usually owned more than one.
