It gets hot on Virginia in the summers, but my 95 Saab 900 Turbo is geared high, so I don't really need higher. 5/0w40/50 wouldn't hurt in the summers, although I'd probably notice a drop in fuel economy with 5w50. Selection of the precisely correct Motor Oil seems to be an inexact science. Pete
