Interesting story. My 87 900T had that problem and then one day it stopped closing on me so I took it to my own libodomy shop and took its electricity away. No, really, the motor in the back trunk contain the motor and gear case. I understand that the gears are made of metal with the exception of one gear which is plastic. Its this plastic gear that gets stripped and that part cant be replaced. (You have to buy a new motor. They dont sell just that part...Damn the world!) Anyway, I had to resort to pushing the close button and gently guiding the roof shut with my hand....One day, I went tot he motor and loosened the motor cable so now I can open and close the roof manually..... Im not recommending this but it worked for me.
