I have the same problem as you. I posted on this same problem to the Saab Network mailing list a few months ago and got a ton of replies. Checking the air mass meter connection is a good first start. Most of the replies suggested that with the age of my car (and yours) that the vacumn hoses slowly lose their tight fitting as the hoses become old and dried. You won't necessarily be able to see any cracking or damage, but I was told to replace ALL of them. Several people suggested that their mechanics had looked at the problem and not been able to fix it -- and few mechanics take the time to replace all these hoses. It's not that hard, so I wouldn't pay a shop to do it. I personally haven't had the time to do it myself yet, but it's on my spring to-do list.
