Subject: engine seals replacement?

I have a 88 900s 3 door. It has truly been a plaesure owning this car but with all of the miles that I have put on it lately I have experienced some oil leaks. This past summer it was leaking oil badly from the rear of the engine, that was the pulley. Not too bad on repair cost. But the oil leak around the engine will really cost me. Other than checking the oil regularly and the oil sopts in the driveway and garage no other bad traits. My 900 has given me 165K of great road fun but my question is should I go ahead and have the oil gaskets changed. It will probably cost about $1100.00 including labor. I want to buy the new 9-5 wagon in a couple of years and just want to keep my 900 running. Is it worth it to have this work done. There are some benefits, like a clean engine compartment, clean driveway and garage, the use of higher quality oils and other but if I will be buying a new Saab in a couple of years is it worth the investment? Thanks for your replys. dp
