So your A/C compressor is noisy. That is one of the weak spots on the 9000s. When I first bought my 87 9000S 5 spd in December of 97, I noticed the compressor seemed noisy, even after I replaced the serpentine and A/C belts. May of last year the compressor clutch went. I got a rebuilt compressor from Impex Dist., 1-800-736-3550, for $310 including the shipping to me and return of the core. It cost me another $360 to have it installed along with a new rec/dryer, expansion valve and one lb. of freon. The rebuilt compressor was quieter, but not as quiet as I thought it should have been. Two months later I found out why, when my crankshaft pulley went bad. The pulley/seal was replaced and things quieted down the way they should have. Apparently some of the noise from the compressor was being generated by the on it's last legs crankshaft pulley. If you have to replace your serpentine belt early that is a good warning sign. You will be better off fixing it. As for your ACC, go to www.townsendimports.com and run the function check in their tech section. Your blower motor and heater core may need replacing.
