Anders, The whining noise could be a vaccum leak, possibly a bad turbo bypass (hooter) valve. The A/C noise could be a bad A/C compressor clutch. I had that problem on my 87 9000S last May. I had to replace the compressor and belt. A few months later the crankshaft pulley (harmonic balancer) went. I had that replaced with a new seal and serpentin belt.
