Subject: Re: When did ABS come in on Saabs?

Saabs started appearing with ABS around '88. Different areas of the world had different launch dates. Unless you do a lot of driving in slippery conditions why bother with ABS. The early systems were complex and expensive if they went wrong. The standard brakes are nice and progressive with lots of feel. There is not the problem of early front wheel lock up you get with a rear wheel drive car i.e. series 5 Saab's are very reliable and the 9000's are a superb example of quality engineering that beats the series 5 hands down. And the Turbo version is amazing. If you go for a Turbo make sure it has a water cooled Turbo. Roger
