Subject: Re: How many miles is too many miles on a used Saab?

Hi David I used to have a 1987 900i. I bought it with 193,000mi on the clock and sold it with 197,500mi on the clock. The car was mechanically excellent - the engine sounded new - it purred. The body was not in as good condition as the one you describe - yours sounds like a very nice example. Saabs are good for in excess of 300,000 if looked after properly. When I buy used Saabs, the mileage covered is not such an important factor as it might be if I were buying a Ford, Vauxhall (GM in the UK) or most other European cars. ...in fact - I wouldn't buy any of the cars mentioned except for a Saab because I know that they are put together well and if treated right are virtually bombproof! If the body and mechanics are good then don't worry about mileage. I don't know if you are mechanically knowledgable. If you have any doubts, have a Saab specialist give the car the once over and let you know of any thing that may need doing. HTH. ;-) Cheers /john Northstarnopsamonramp.net.com wrote in message <36ccbd3a.6921368nopsam.capeonramp.com>... >I brought a '91 900S Sedan in this week for a pre-purchase inspection. >At first look I thought that the car had around 90,000 miles on her. >Lt.
